Bear Spreads

Straddles

A straddle is the go-to strategy if you expect a big move in the underlying but aren’t sure which direction it’ll go. It involves buying (or selling) a call and a put at the same strike and expiration. When you buy a straddle, you pay two premiums, which can be expensive. That’s why you need significant volatility—both realized and implied—to make it worthwhile.

Long Straddle
